Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI) is a Indian Mountains Network working for the sustainable development issues. IMI is the partner organization for the UNEP supported Counter Measure – II (small grant) project is being implemented presently. The initiative aims to generate, share, and disseminate scientific knowledge on plastic pollution in the Ganges, Mekong and selected rivers in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, to inform policy and decision-making processes at the local, national, regional, and global level.
As Ganges river system is one of the priority river in the project, Uttarakhand state is an important stake holder. IMI is in the process of initial consultations with the different stakeholders. As a part of these consultations Mr. PD Rai ( former MP, Sikkim) and President IMI visited Uttarakhand on 28 Sept. SDFU, Dehradun , as the state chapter of
IMI organized the stakeholder consultation on 28 Sept 2021 at 3 pm at Hotel Indralok, conference hall.
Meting was attended by the academicians, scientists, government officials and civil society organization representatives.
